Kenton Black Finance are proud to represent this successful and thriving practice business in the Chester area, who due to their sustained growth, are now seeking to appoint an expert and experienced Payroll Manager to lead their small and stable payroll bureau. This is a key leadership role that involves strategic planning, hands-on payroll management, and mentorship of a small team, working closely with clients and staff to build strong relationships and deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. To lead and manage the payroll team, ensuring the smooth delivery of payrolls and provision of excellent client service.
  2. To develop and implement effective payroll processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant legislation.
  3. To maintain accurate records of employee data, leave, and other HR-related matters.
  4. To liaise with clients and provide support and guidance on payroll-related queries.
  5. To work closely with the finance team to develop and implement effective financial processes and procedures.

Person Specification:

  1. At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  3. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  4. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to work.

This position comes with an estimated salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
