About the Role

Are you passionate about empowering individuals with hearing loss or tinnitus? Do you enjoy working with diverse groups and communities? Spark-A-Change Foundation is seeking a Deaf Community Outreach Volunteer to join our team

This is a flexible opportunity, requiring 2-4 hours of commitment per month, starting from June 2024, with an estimated salary of £10.50 per hour. As a Deaf Community Outreach Volunteer, you will work closely with our RNID volunteers to provide support and assistance to deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.

Your responsibilities will include helping individuals with hearing aid maintenance, assisting with online hearing checks, and providing information on various topics. You will also have the opportunity to meet new people, develop your communication skills, and gain experience working with diverse groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining hearing aids and providing tips for optimal use
  • Assisting with online hearing checks and providing guidance
  • Providing information on technology, assistive devices, and benefits
  • Welcoming visitors, providing a warm greeting, and directing them to relevant services
  • Supporting fundraising efforts to enhance services for the deaf community
  • Contributing to administrative tasks to ensure smooth service delivery
