Job Title: Children's Team Leader Nights

Caridon Young Living is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Team Leader Nights to join our team at our residential children's home in Sutton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective running of the residential home during the night, managing a team of night staff, and undertaking direct work with children in the home when necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures and meeting all OFSTED regulations.
  • Manage the home during the night and direct a team of night staff.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare and development of the children in the home.
  • Ensure that the young people's needs are recognized and met, ensuring they are free from discrimination within the home and challenging discrimination from outside the home.
  • Provide an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of the children being looked after.
  • Support children in stressful situations or crises.
  • Effectively manage and report incidents during the night for handover to day staff, including writing incident reports and updating support and behaviour plans.
  • Manage and report missing episodes effectively.
  • Ensure all staff under supervision complete training in accordance with their induction training schedule and Personal Development Plan.
  • Conduct supervisions.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety regulations related to the upkeep of the building and surroundings.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Requirements:

  • Hold the Health and Social Care Level 3 qualification, or be working towards it, or hold the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care Children and Young People's Services.
  • Previous management experience.

Special Conditions:

  • This post requires the holder to do varying shifts.
  • The post holder is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required.
  • On occasions, you may be requested to change your rota at short notice as per your contract to ensure the contingencies of the service are covered.
  • In accordance with Health and Safety guidelines, you are responsible for working within these guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Manager.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post and the needs of the home, such as decorating and gardening, to maintain service delivery.
  • This post requires the holder to have an Enhanced DBS check at all times.
