Nursing Associate

Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen on our busy surgical ward, specialising in ENT, Plastic Surgery, OMFS, and Ophthalmology. We are seeking a registered nursing associate to join our excellent and dynamic team.
Ward 35 is a busy inpatient surgical ward based at The James Cook University Hospital site, providing care for planned elective and emergency patients.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will work as an active member of the team, taking responsibility for their own practice. They will be allocated their own caseload of patients each shift and will work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team, holistically assessing patients' needs, planning and prioritising their workload, and implementing evidence-based practice under the minimal supervision of a registered nurse.

Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our staff in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. The programme aims to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust values and behaviours
- Develop leadership effectiveness and skills
- Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of their role
After completing the three-and-a-half-day training programme, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer further in-house courses and bite-sized programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
- Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
- GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
- Completion of End Point Assessment for applicants who have undertaken the apprenticeship route
- When English is spoken as a second language, must have an IELTS score of
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
- Possess the knowledge expected of a Nursing Associate, as recommended within the NMC Standards of proficiency for Nursing Associates
