Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Pharmacist Specialist in Surgery and Thrombosis to join our Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will have expertise in clinical pharmacy and drug use within the area of general surgery and anticoagulation, thrombosis, and VTE.

The salary for this position is £53,755-£60,504 per annum, which reflects the complexity of the role and the need for senior pharmacy management experience within a recognised area of pharmacy practice.

About the Role

  • Provide high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services for patients within the general surgery care areas.
  • Act as team leader for the ward-based pharmacy team and as a team member of the surgery pharmacy team.
  • Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees.
  • Work closely with the care group lead pharmacist & associate chief pharmacist for clinical services on the strategic development of clinical pharmacy services.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and systems including monitoring drug expenditure, delivery of financial savings within the general surgical care areas.
