Job Summary:

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Estates Department at Vale of Leven Hospital. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, and efficient estates service to support clinical and administrative activities within healthcare and acute hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance and repair services in relation to all aspects of engineering and building services, plant, and equipment.
  • Work on all sites and properties within the department's remit, as routinely required.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota to meet the needs and requirements of the service.
  • Work unscheduled overtime or unsocial hours to undertake and complete emergency repairs to ensure continuity of service.

Requirements:

  • Completed a recognized and registered apprenticeship with post-apprenticeship experience in Plumbing equivalent to SVQ Level 4 Higher National Diploma, Modern Apprenticeship – Level 4, Professional Development Awards (SCQF – 8-9).
  • Proven track record demonstrating practical core skills and application within your trade.
  • HNC, B/Tech, or City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Craft qualification or equal and approved.
  • Current full UK Driver's License for category 'B' class of vehicle.
