Maintenance Technician

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is – Day Shift – Monday to Friday, with an On-Call Requirement. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing planned and breakdown maintenance and repair services in relation to all aspects of engineering and building services, plant, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, effective, and efficient estates service to support clinical and administration activities within Healthcare and Acute Hospital Facilities.
  • Work on all sites and properties within the remit of the department as routinely required.
  • Undertake work of other disciplines for which training will be provided as necessary.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota to meet the needs and requirements of the service.
  • Work unscheduled overtime or unsocial hours to undertake and complete emergency repairs to ensure continuity of service.

Requirements:

  • Completed a recognized and registered apprenticeship with post-apprenticeship experience in Plumbing equivalent to SVQ Level 4 Higher National Diploma, Modern Apprenticeship – Level 4, Professional Development Awards (SCQF – 8-9).
  • Proven track record demonstrating practical core skills and application within your trade.
  • HNC, B/Tech, or City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Craft qualification or equal and approved.
  • Current full UK Driver's Licence for category 'B' class of vehicle.
