About the Role

As a Chartered Secretary, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient legal, governance, and operational support to our organisation. You will work closely with the Board and Senior Management to keep abreast of developments in the legal and regulatory environment and provide specialist advice to support decision-making.

  • Oversight and management of UK legal budget:
  • Ensure all legal registrations for all offices and subsidiaries are maintained, and relevant documents are available to key staff and governance bodies.
  • Provide specialist support to the Governance, Legal, and Risk (GLT) Committee, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Chair of the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee in relation to governance, legal, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for charitable companies and experience of developing and implementing policies and systems to ensure compliance.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR with the ability to develop robust systems to share and protect personal data.
  • Highly numerate with a strong capacity to analyse and utilise complex data.
  • A background in international development, including some time spent working overseas.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including:
