Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the University of Cambridge to work on a new project in data-driven mechanics. The project aims to develop experimental methods for obtaining large quantities of multi-axial data from a single test, and to develop computational methods that can deal with measurement noise.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, physics, or a related subject, and a strong interest in multi-physics modelling and/or experimental methods. The researcher will work alongside post-doctoral associates and partner universities in the US to develop a data-driven material model discovery technique.

To be eligible for this position, applicants should have at least a high 2.1 degree (preferably a first or its equivalent) and a strong interest in the field. The studentship is open to both home and overseas applicants.

Applicants should submit a CHRIS6 coversheet, a two-page CV, and a cover letter to Hilde Hambro. The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
