The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Science to join the Engineering Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue independent research in the general area of mechanics and materials, as well as contribute to ongoing research in the Mechanics and/or Materials Groups.

Key areas of research include additive manufacturing, micro- and nano-mechanics, coupled phenomena of direct relevance to mechanical engineering, such as performance and failure of electro-chemical devices, statistical theory of vibration, and data-based computational methods.

The ideal candidate will have recently received a PhD or be close to receiving one. Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD, while those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.
