About the Role
St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice is seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide spiritual, pastoral, and religious care to patients, families, and colleagues within our Hospice community.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual, pastoral, and religious care to patients and families, ensuring equitable support regardless of religion or belief group.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to contribute to patient care through thoughtful and appropriate support.
- Develop and lead reflective remembrance gatherings, seasonal services, and other events to nurture the experience of patients, families, and carers.
- Liaise with visiting religion or belief group leaders, ensuring warm and effective communication.
- Document spiritual care needs and concerns, and requirements of religion or belief group on patient records.
Key Requirements
- Essential qualifications include completion of or substantive progress in an appropriate course of theological study, including training for ordination, or equivalent qualifications within a different faith or denominational setting.
- Awareness of adult and children safeguarding responsibilities and experience of working with such responsibilities.
- Understanding of the nature and scope of loss, grief, and bereavement.
