About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our team at the Castle Inn in Castle Combe, Wiltshire. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the food and kitchen operations, leading and inspiring the kitchen and service teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative and seasonal food menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards of food preparation and cooking.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, while maintaining strong relationships with food suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop and implement effective food operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of food safety and health and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, staff, and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
