Job DescriptionWe're looking for a Technical Skills Trainer - Surveillance to join our team, responsible for delivering training programmes, supervising students, and providing subject matter expertise in the formulation of evidence-based policing standards.
The selected candidate will work with other College departments to design and develop learning products, ensuring that learning objectives are met to course specifications and agreed quality standards.
Responsibilities- Deliver training programmes to agreed content and assessment specifications, developing and adapting teaching techniques, lesson plans, scenarios, and training materials to meet individual students' abilities and learning styles.
- Continually research and refresh subject matter expertise, working with Policing Standards Managers, Knowledge, Research, and Education partners, Training Designers, and external stakeholders to share knowledge and identify innovative solutions.
- Take ownership of specific training modules, courses, or work-streams, reviewing and revising lesson plans and training materials to address changes to the curriculum, professional practice, guidance, standards, and feedback from quality assurance data trends.
- Be a qualified Trainer to meet the Police Sector Standard for the Training of Trainers and a relevant Level 4 qualification such as Certificate in Education and Training, Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS Level 4), or NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Learning and Development or equivalent.
- Be an experienced and current Assessor competent to the Police Sector Standard for the Training of Assessors.
- Have current proven competence, experience, and knowledge to the level required within surveillance to the NPCC Manual of Standards/Authorised Professional Practice.
Alongside your salary of £33,573, the College of Policing contributes £9,726 towards your being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
