Specialist Respiratory Clinical Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist Team at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a Specialist Respiratory Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing expert care for patients with COPD and bronchiectasis.

About the Role
  • This exciting opportunity involves working closely with a specialized team of respiratory nurses to provide inpatient and outpatient chronic respiratory disease management. You will work collaboratively with other members of the multi-professional team and community respiratory services.

You will be responsible for performing specialist respiratory assessments and reviews of patients with COPD, bronchiectasis, and those requiring home oxygen in the clinic and inpatient settings. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a flexible approach, and strong team working, organisational, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting specialist respiratory assessments and reviews of patients with COPD, bronchiectasis, and those requiring home oxygen
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients
  • Participating in clinician-led clinics in COPD, bronchiectasis, and oxygen therapy
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans to meet patient needs

Requirements
  • Degree-qualified Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Experience of working in a respiratory or acute care setting
  • Ability to work a varied shift pattern, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid car driver's licence (desirable)

The salary for this role is £40,428 - £62,179 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme, and access to training and development opportunities. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
