Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist Respiratory/NIV Dietitian to work within the Respiratory MDT at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The role mainly focuses on supporting acutely unwell patients in Respiratory Support Units, who may require oral supplements or enteral feeding to meet their nutritional needs.

Main Duties:

  • Provide specialist advice to respiratory patients, including those with severe COPD, bronchiectasis, and TB.
  • Support patients stepping down from intensive care requiring intensive rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement innovative dietetic treatment pathways.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be part of the wider General Medicine dietetic team, working alongside experienced colleagues. The role offers opportunities for research, audit, and showcasing dietetics. The successful candidate will lead the dietetic Respiratory inpatient service provision on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site.

Person Specification:

  • Essential:
    • Registration with HCPC.
    • Significant post-graduate experience in relevant specialist area.
    • Practical skill & in-depth experience in a multi-disciplinary setting in relevant specialist field.
    • Experience of training Dietetic students.
