Job Title: Radiology Training Programme Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Training Programme Director to join our team at the North West School of Radiology.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of School in strategic development and training delivery within the school. This will include pastoral support of an allocated ST year group, inductions and mid-point reviews, ARCP Chair, exam support & TRES, membership of the Specialty Training Committee (STC), and engagement in trainer development activities.

Regular engagement, participation & attendance at Board Meetings, STCs, and Away Days is expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with the Head of School to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy that supports the recruitment and retention of Radiology Trainees with a focus on regional education programs.
  • Develop and deliver education programs and courses that meet the needs of Radiology Trainees.
  • Provide pastoral support to an allocated ST year group, including inductions and mid-point reviews.
  • Chair ARCP panels and provide exam support & TRES.
  • Contribute to the Specialty Training Committee (STC) and engage in trainer development activities.
Person Specification
  • Consultant in Clinical or Interventional Radiology on the Specialist Register.
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.
  • Consultant currently working in the NHS in the North West of England.
  • Education Qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education.
  • Minimum 1-2 years post CCT.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience of organising and delivering education programs and courses.
  • Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context.
  • Experience as an educational supervisor.
  • Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education.
  • Understanding of the workforce transformation agenda.
  • Experience in recruitment.
  • Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection, and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
  • Clinical Manager Experience.
  • Awareness of funding streams for education.

Salary paid in line with TPD sessional payments, depending on experience.
