Lead Radiology Training Programme

NHS England is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the Radiology Training Programme in the North West School of Radiology.

The successful candidate will support the Head of School in strategic development and training delivery, with a focus on pastoral support, inductions, and mid-point reviews for ST year groups. They will also chair ARCP meetings, provide exam support, and engage in trainer development activities.

The programme aims to enable local systems and providers to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities, while working collaboratively to ensure a skilled and compassionate healthcare workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the NHS England board's purpose and the role of the Training Programme Director in achieving this.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a Medical Workforce Strategy to support the recruitment and retention of Radiology Trainees
  • Collaborating with the Head of School to design and deliver training programmes
  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to ST year groups
  • Chairing ARCP meetings and providing exam support
  • Engaging in trainer development activities and contributing to the Specialty Training Committee

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the Head of School and other stakeholders to achieve the programme's objectives. They will also be required to spend at least 40% of their time working in-person, with the remainder spent on remote work.
