Job Description

  • As an Educational Support Specialist, you will provide academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • You will quickly build positive relationships with students, providing personal care and support as needed.
  • Supporting engagement and encouraging pupils to participate in activities is also an essential aspect of this role.
  • You will work closely with the general class teacher to develop and implement learning plans, participating in the planning and evaluation of activities.
  • Promoting cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development through the curriculum is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, tailoring your approach to meet their unique requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions to address these.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference in young lives.
  • Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in different school environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • A relevant qualification or prior experience as a TA is desirable, but not essential.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum

Location: Preston and Blackpool

Working Hours: Flexible, part-time or full-time
