About the Role

Vision for Education - Preston is seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Support Specialist to work on a part-time basis with children who require additional support in their education.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of instructing or teaching young people, with a comprehensive understanding of working with students attributed EHCPs for Special Educational Needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with students and help them overcome barriers to learning
  • Plan and deliver Maths & English lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Implement teaching and learning strategies based on student EHCPs and adapt to maintain focus and motivate students
  • Liaise with schools to gain schemes of work and report any issues or concerns when necessary
  • Complete weekly reports of student engagement and attainment, record weekly attendance figures

Requirements:

  • A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience of implementing de-escalation strategies in challenging situations involving young people
  • Ability to teach Maths & English and work around Preston

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience
