We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Manchester primary school, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, particularly those with communication and interaction difficulties.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Liaise with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for pupils with SEND.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, analyzing the impact of interventions and providing regular updates to the SENDCO.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Quality First teaching strategies for pupils with SEND.
- Collaborate with the staff team to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to supporting pupils with SEND.
- Requirements
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
- At least 3 years' experience in supporting children's learning within the area of SEND
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a supportive teamwork structure
- Creativity and imagination in adapting teaching styles to meet the needs of pupils
- Sound ICT skills
- Natural authority and leadership skills
