Role Overview:

Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Lead and support Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and other domestic tasks.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Promote, monitor, and maintain a safe environment for service users.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete this in the required timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people.
  • At least 1 year's supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
