Job Overview:

Barnardo's, the UK's largest Children's Charity, is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Leicestershire Residential Team. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to vulnerable children and young people in our residential homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users to promote their independence, wellbeing, and strengths.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Lead and support Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a safe environment at all times, ensuring the well-being and safety of service users.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete this in the required timeframe.
  • Have relevant experience working with children and young people, with at least 1 year's supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
