Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a key member of our Residential Support Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with service users, promoting their independence, wellbeing, and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Lead and support Residential Support Workers in their daily duties, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Accurately document information and maintain up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times, promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of service users.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete this within a specified timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people, with a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
