Assistant Head of Department Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Assistant Head of Department for the Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades Department at our college in Cambridge. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Department in overseeing and enhancing the curriculum for Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, and Adult courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day support to the Multi-Skills Trowel Trades teams, ensuring seamless delivery of teaching and learning activities.
  • Developing and implementing a teaching support cover rota for the Department, ensuring effective resource allocation and minimizing disruptions.
  • Supporting the development and embedding of a collaborative approach to planning, preparation, and adaptation of resources, promoting student-centered learning and achievement.
  • Embedding English & Maths throughout the curriculum, ensuring that all students reach their full potential in every learning environment.
  • Monitoring and acting upon poor attendance, punctuality, and behavior in line with college processes and procedures, ensuring that area and College targets are met.
  • Developing industry contacts to ensure currency of curriculum content and provide work experience opportunities, enhancing student employability and career prospects.

    What We Offer

    Our college is located in Cambridge, with easy access to local motorway routes and ample parking on site. We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000-£43,000 and a full-time, permanent position.
