Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as an Assistant Head of Department for Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head of Department in overseeing and enhancing the curriculum for Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, and Adult courses.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Curriculum Development: Assist in the development and implementation of a teaching support cover rota for the Department.
  2. Staff Management: Support, develop, and embed a collaborative approach to planning, preparation, and adaptation of resources to ensure that all students reach their full potential in every learning environment.
  3. Quality Improvement: Monitor and act upon poor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour in line with college processes and procedures, ensuring that area and College targets are met.
  4. Industry Partnerships: Develop industry contacts to ensure currency of curriculum content and provide work experience opportunities.
  5. Timetabling and Data Management: Work closely with the MIS team to ensure that flexible study programmes are accurately captured through the college's timetabling systems.
  6. Quality Assurance: Make effective use of the Quality Improvement data as a vehicle to drive improvement for the area that results in tangible and measurable improvements.
Requirements
  1. Enhanced DBS Check: The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS check.
  2. Teachers' Pension: The role offers a Teachers' Pension scheme.
