Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

The Karmanos Cancer Institute, a leader in cancer care, seeks a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join their team.
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound diagnostic studies, obtaining patient history, and explaining procedures to patients. You will also operate and maintain assigned ultrasound scanning equipment, ensuring proper function and safety standards.
We offer an estimated salary of $83,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and location. This is a competitive salary range for this position in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialize in performing ultrasound diagnostic studies.
- Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns.
- Operate and maintain assigned ultrasound scanning equipment.
- Select appropriate transducers and machine settings, and conduct scanning procedures to capture images requested by a physician.
- Complete quality assurance processes, practice radiation safety, and comply with regulatory laws and protocols.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an approved school of medical sonography.
- Registration as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
