Substance Misuse Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Band 5 Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Peterborough. As a specialist practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients with substance misuse issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital experience and be knowledgeable about substance misuse services.
In this role, you will work closely with the Integrated Substance Misuse Team to provide clinical observations and assessments, develop research-based care plans, and ensure the provision of evidence-based interventions. Your leadership skills will also be essential in guiding junior staff members and contributing to the development of policies and procedures within the prison setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Observations and Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with substance misuse issues, developing individualized care plans that prioritize their needs.
- Research-Based Care Plans: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and implement evidence-based care plans that cater to the diverse needs of patients.
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff members, promoting a culture of learning and professional growth.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of one year's hospital experience and possess expertise in substance misuse services. A Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) qualification is also essential. We welcome applicants with experience working in prison settings or secured environments as these skills are highly valued.
