About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Incentives Associate to join our esteemed Incentives practice at Slaughter and May. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in advising clients on a wide range of share plan and incentives issues, including remuneration and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on share plan and incentives matters, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Draft, review, and amend legal and commercial aspects of incentives documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Take ownership of the share plan and incentives aspects of corporate transactions, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality support to clients on various matters, collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Manage and supervise the work of junior team members, including trainees.
  • Contribute to the development of the practice by promoting the firm and its work to existing and potential clients, and by creating know-how through client bulletins and training events.
Requirements
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career as an incentives lawyer, with a focus on share plan and incentives issues.
  • Excellent academic background and high level of intellectual rigor, with outstanding analytical abilities.
  • Flexibility to support on straightforward employment or other matters, as required.
  • Ability to draft, advise, and negotiate complex transactions and cases, identifying and explaining key technical issues commercially and succinctly.
  • First-rate legal and commercial knowledge, technical skills, and excellent client relationship skills.
  • Pragmatism, commerciality, and ability to work in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment.
  • Resilience under pressure and ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in running negotiations and meetings under minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
