Austin Fraser is seeking a highly skilled Children's Occupational Therapist to join our team in West Berkshire. As a Children's Rehabilitation and Support Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing expert occupational therapy services to children and families.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a community setting, collaborating with the Sensory Team, Education, Housing, and the NHS to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Children's Occupational Therapist in the community, with a strong background in social care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Housing needs assessments: Conducting thorough assessments to identify specific access needs of children and ensuring they are considered when rehoused.
  • Attending child in need and safeguarding meetings: Collaborating with Social Workers and the MDT to ensure the best interests of allocated children.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Previous experience working as a Children's Occupational Therapist in the community.
  2. Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  3. Specialist OT service to children with neuromuscular, or genetic conditions, or profound developmental disabilities.
  4. Community OT post, with experience in assisting and moving, major and minor adaptations.
  5. Community based with provision of equipment to support home working.
  6. Experience in assessing and providing major adaptations such as ramps and stairlifts and manual handling equipment.
  7. Manual handling experience.
  8. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
