Ackerman Pierce Ltd is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join their team in delivering exceptional care services to children and families. As a key member of the community team, you will work closely with Social Workers, the Sensory Team, Education, Housing, and the NHS to provide comprehensive assessments and recommendations.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' experience working with children and in social care. You will be responsible for conducting housing needs assessments, attending child in need and safeguarding meetings, and collaborating with Social Workers and the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).

Main Duties:

  • Housing needs assessments: Assessing specific access needs of a child for social housing applications.
  • Attending child in need and safeguarding meetings, working closely with Social Workers and the MDT.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Children's Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an Adult Social Care OT.
  • Experience in specialist OT services for children with neuromuscular or genetic conditions.
  • Community OT experience with major and minor adaptations.
  • Community-based work with equipment provision for home working.
  • Experience in assessing and providing major adaptations, manual handling equipment.
  • Manual handling expertise.
  • Enhanced DBS or CRB (can be obtained).

Estimated salary range: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
