Job Overview

Step Teachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Primary School setting. As a preferred supplier, we have a long-standing relationship with this school and are looking for a Year 4/5 SEND Teaching Assistant for a Long-Term (Supply) role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support on a 1-2-1, small group or whole class basis to students with SEND.
  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Support students in their academic and personal development, encouraging their progression and well-being.
  • Comply with the school's policies and implement them effectively to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Recent experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School setting.
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable.
  • Strong experience working with students with SEND is desirable.
  • Ability to provide intimate care support.
  • Experience working with Year 4/5 pupils.
  • SEN 1:1 Support experience from Reception to Year 2.
