About the Role

As a Senior Planning Officer in Newark and Sherwood District Council, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our district through effective planning and development. This exciting opportunity will see you joining a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about creating vibrant and sustainable communities.

You will be responsible for providing expert guidance to planners, trainees, and technical support colleagues on planning policies, procedures, and best practices. Your caseload will include some of the most complex and challenging development proposals, requiring your expertise and knowledge to ensure that they meet our high standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need a Master's degree in Planning or a relevant subject area and Chartered Membership of the RTPI or equivalent body. You will also need regular access to a vehicle to enable you to travel within and outside the district to carry out your duties.

The salary for this position is £**£53,000 per annum**, and we offer a range of benefits, including enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme, hybrid working, generous annual leave entitlement, one day paid volunteering leave, funded health cash plan, free car parking, and gym membership.
