About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at The Newt in Somerset. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, seasonal dishes to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and exceptional food quality.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage kitchen costs, including food, labor, and waste, to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Participate in menu tastings, reviews, and adjustments based on guest feedback and trends.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef in a similar environment, preferably in a luxury hotel or restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on creativity, presentation, and flavor.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests.
