Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Botanical Rooms, a contemporary take on British fine-dining. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, including management of costs, staffing controls, sales analysis, and forecasting.
- Deliver exceptional food to the highest standard, monitoring and managing guest experiences, and making improvements as necessary.
- Lead and develop a team of 15 chefs and kitchen porters, fostering a strong working relationship with the Restaurant Manager to ensure seamless collaboration between departments.
- Maintain high company standards from cooking to cleaning, ensuring that every aspect of the kitchen operation meets our high expectations.
- Represent the company with impeccable style, ensuring that you and your team always look professional and polished.
- Previous experience in a luxury restaurant or hotel at Sous Chef level for two years is required.
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Great business acumen with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and financial management.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a passion for delivering exceptional food and service.
- Microsoft Office and tech skills with the ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Passion for food, beverage, and luxury hospitality with a willingness to develop and grow with our business.
- Knowledge and experience in food preservation, including Asian preservation techniques.
- Creativity and innovation in researching and developing new food products using the estate's offerings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- A positive and supportive work environment with opportunities for development and growth.
