Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Supporting Students with Additional Needs

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND teaching assistant to join our team at Five Education Recruitment Limited. As a SEND teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs in a range of settings across South Gloucestershire.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils to develop positive self-regulation skills and improve their engagement with core curriculum subjects.
  • Manage challenging behaviour following the school's approach.
  • Deliver planned interventions to support students' learning and development.
  • Ensure pupil safety and welfare is maintained at all times.
  • Feedback to the SENDCo/class teacher on student progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with young people who have additional needs.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Good listening skills and ability to adapt to different situations.
  • Patience and resilience when working with students who may present challenging behaviour.
