The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the holistic development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' specific SEMH needs.
  • Provide tailored support to students, promoting their social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and skill-building activities.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and nurturing classroom environment, where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement effective support strategies, ensuring a cohesive and student-centered approach.
Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners.
  • Creativity and adaptability in designing and implementing effective support strategies.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and continuous learning.
