Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a Reception class at one of our partner Primary Schools in South Shields.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Safe Handling or Team Teach training
  • Completed safeguarding training (we can provide this)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)

The role involves supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis, transitioning them into full-time school, and working in a Reception-based environment. The school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible on a long-term basis.

As a Teaching Assistant with Teaching Personnel, you will have access to free child protection and prevent duty training, as well as full assistance with DBS checks. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance.
