Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Primary School

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Primary School in South Shields. The role is a full-time, long-term position, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be working with pupils in Upper KS2, supporting their learning and well-being. This will involve working with pupils who have varied Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour, requiring a resilient and proactive approach.

The role will involve building positive relationships with Class Teachers to plan and deliver learning activities tailored to the needs of all pupils. This will include supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups through the planning and delivery of intervention lessons.

This is a supportive and inspiring environment for both students and staff, offering the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children every day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils in Upper KS2 with challenging behaviour and SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to plan and deliver learning activities.
