We are seeking a skilled Freelance Interpreter and Translator to join our team at Language Empire.

As a Freelance Interpreter and Translator, you will work with various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations across the UK.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting and translation services to non-English speakers, ensuring accurate communication and effective relationships between service users and providers.

Your main duties will include:

  • Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
  • Checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence
  • Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Dealing with highly confidential information
  • Liaising between the service user and service provider

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Fluent English and another language
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be aged 21 or over
  • Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered, Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages, or any other interpreting-related qualification
