About this Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled High Level Rail Technician to join our team at Siemens Mobility in Glasgow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating rolling stock casualties, undertaking maintenance and repair of allocated rolling stock, and mitigating the risk of in-service failures through proactive intervention.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Investigate rolling stock casualties and undertake maintenance and repair of allocated rolling stock.
  • Mitigate the risk of in-service failures through proactive intervention.
  • Download and process train diagnostic data, undertake fault finding to an advanced level.
  • Act as Siemens representative on shift, providing technical support to Operator's maintenance staff.
  • Respond to trends in unit defects and make recommendations on possible mitigations and countermeasures.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Rolling Stock systems/procedures including schematics, fault finding techniques and download analysis.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • Ability to fault-find using a number of different methods including diagnostic software.

Estimated Salary: £26.60 - £33.13 per hour (PAYE / Umbrella).
