About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing teams to deliver exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Support qualified nursing and medical staff in providing patient care and treatment.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment on the ward or department.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications: NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or Care Certificate, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to undertake an apprenticeship in Senior Healthcare Support Worker.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a willingness to help others.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.
