About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Health Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a range of personal care services for patients, including assistance with daily living activities, toileting, and use of continence aids.
  • Work independently to perform clinical duties, following training and meeting competency requirements, under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional.
  • Assist patients with mobility, use of mobility aids, and correct patient positioning, assessing pressure areas and skin integrity.
  • Develop positive relationships with patients, families, and carers, respecting their privacy, dignity, and beliefs.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, reporting any concerns or incidents, and participating in audit activities to improve care.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, prioritizing tasks, and adjusting as necessary, to ensure smooth running of the team.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Effective level of numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proven ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and help others
  • Demonstrable ability to follow instructions
