About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Octavia Council. As a key member of our social housing team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality repair and maintenance services to our residents.

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will work on a planned route, supporting residents with reactive repairs across our portfolio of properties. You will have a certified core trade and be able to deliver additional trade activities in support of completing repair/refurbishment works on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance work to a high standard, adhering to safety, quality, and cost control standards.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and support to residents.
  • Take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time parameters.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of our residents' needs and preferences.
  • Contribute to the development of our team's skills and knowledge through training and mentoring.

Requirements:

  • Experience in plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, plastering, or other relevant trades.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to work effectively with residents.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Experience working in social housing or a similar environment.
  • Own tools and equipment.
  • Repairs and maintenance experience.
