Job Summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Oncology Consultant to join our team at The Royal London Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary clinical team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to children with cancer and other complex conditions.

About the Role

This is a substantive consultant post in Paediatric Oncology and General Paediatrics, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be part of a highly motivated team delivering high-quality paediatric care to Tower Hamlets & East London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality care to children with cancer and other complex conditions
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans
  • Prescribe chemotherapy and other treatments as required
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior staff members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice
  • On GMC Specialist Register in Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT
  • Broad range of clinical experience in Acute General Paediatrics
  • Higher specialist training in Paediatric Medicine
  • At least six months of PICU at middle grade level
  • Up to date APLS/PALS
  • Experience in managing paediatric haematology / oncology patients
