Paediatric Oncology Specialist

Rainbow Centre for Children and Young People, based at Newham University Hospital, is a leading provider of paediatric oncology services within Barts Health NHS Trust.
Main DutiesWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Oncology CNS to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to children with cancer, working closely with specialist paediatricians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality care to children with cancer, including administering chemotherapy and providing supportive care.
- Work closely with specialist paediatricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Contribute to the development of our paediatric oncology service, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to policy development.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Oncology CNS who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- RSCN/RN Child with current registration.
- Educated to degree level or working towards it.
- Possession of a Nurse Mentorship qualification or prepared to undertake the course.
- Evidence of continued professional development in Paediatric Oncology.
- Intravenous bolus chemotherapy accreditation.
- Evidence of Children's Cancer Network and RCN competence-based type 2 'Full' chemotherapy administration and oncology skills.
We would also welcome applications from candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Leadership course/development programme.
- Intravenous infusional chemotherapy accreditation.
- External training accredited to 20 units at first degree level; type 1-chemotherapy administration and oncology skills.
We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 4 years post-registration experience within an acute paediatric setting, with experience of working within POSCU or oncology services.
SkillsThe successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
