Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Telecoms Project Engineer to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing the use of appropriate engineering standards in relation to design and construction on all projects.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in signalling engineering, ideally with civils and telecoms involvement in design projects across multi-discipline areas. They will also possess knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects, safety management, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to maintain a cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible approach to design, commissioning, and other technical activities on relevant projects.
  • Monitor the competence of all Project Engineers working on projects within the Asset Protection Team and provide functional guidance, direction, and briefing where required.
  • Engineer projects to the standards and specification of Network Rail, allocated design and contracts include reference to and are compliant with appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards, formal specifications, and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful relevant experience in signalling engineering, ideally with civils and telecoms involvement in design projects across multi-discipline areas.
  • Significant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas.
  • Able to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 role of Designated Project Engineer.
  • Able to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 role of Project Engineer as discipline expert.
  • Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
  • Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.
  • Risk assessment, engineering management competency.
  • An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
  • Project safety management experience.
