Job Title: Transport Planner Operator

Gregory Distribution is seeking a skilled Transport Planner Operator to join our team. As a key member of our transport operation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our fleet and customer service levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Transport Manager in managing and motivating the transport team to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Plan and organize transportation activities, including peak and off-peak periods, to maximize resource utilization.
  • Provide leadership on day-to-day transport issues, including dispatch debriefs and driver management.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure seamless operation and high service levels.
  • Monitor and audit Health and Safety protocols.
  • Produce regular reports on customer-related matters and make recommendations as needed.
  • Answer queries via email, phone, and face-to-face in a timely manner.
  • Assist in producing KPIs and daily statistics, including POD emailing.
  • Support compliance planning in line with company procedures.
  • Provide direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
  • Promote positive relationships with colleagues and offer support as a team member.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the transport, warehouse, and logistics industry.
  • Good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
  • Leadership skills and a track record of leading successful change.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management.
  • Ability to present to senior contacts and customers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, and strong analytical ability in reviewing data and reports.
