A specialist secondary school in the Surrey countryside is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join their team.

The school provides a tailored environment for children and young people aged 10-16 years old with SEMH as their primary area of need, along with sensory differences and SLCN.

This position involves working closely with students to develop their skills and abilities, with a focus on enhancing their quality of life.

As an occupational therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care and education.

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' physical, emotional, and social needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students
  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and strategies
  • Provide training and education to parents and carers on how to support their child's needs at home

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
