Ambulance Care Assistant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and transportation services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
  • Assist in the transportation of end-of-life service users with empathy and respect.
  • Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends through effective communication.
  • Responsible for lifting, securing, and helping service users in and out of the Ambulance.
  • Assist with patient handovers to appropriate staff upon arrival at treatment centers/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs, or similar in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights.
  • Assist service users with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses.
  • Maintain the ambulance in a safe, clean, and tidy condition.
Requirements
  • Commitment to patient care and well-being.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Calm, considerate, and careful driving abilities.
  • Natural flair for team working and collaboration.
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (funded by the company).
  • Familiarity with the local and surrounding area.
  • Valid UK manual driving license with less than 6 points.
  • Physical fitness for patient handling and moving.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
