13,500 registered patients, 5 GP partners, 1 salaried GP as a training practice have several GP registrars, some who have opted to return as development, support and achievement is encouraged.

Hours of work

Monday 10.30 6.30 (1 hour lunch)

Tuesday 8.30 5.00 (1 hour lunch)

Wednesday 8.30 5.00 (1 hour lunch)

Thursday 10.00 6.30 (1 hour lunch)

Friday 10.00 6.30 (1 hour lunch)

Extended hours on a Tuesday to 8pm, (Friday 1 per month) and Saturdays by opt in rota

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice team may include any or all of the items in the following list.
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
- Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
- Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
- Enter requests for home visits into the visit log, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.
- Process and Action repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours, using the practices computer systems.
- Action requests for ambulance transportation.
- If the Duty Doctor is called out on an urgent visit, then the patients must be informed of this and an explanation given if they are to be swapped over to another Doctor.
- To uphold and abide to agree to Practice Policy, requirements to support patient service delivery and to assist in the distribution of relevant Practice leaflets, booklets, Health Promotion questionnaires etc to patients.
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same. Provide administrative support for the generation of medical reports, generate and chase non payment of invoices.
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
- Scanning of relevant documentation to be work flowed for appropriate action.
- Administer the practices call recall systems for disease management, vaccinations and cytology.
- Patient notes and correspondence:

- Retrieve and re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to
- Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc are filed promptly and in the correct records, ensuring that all recent correspondence is available when patients are seen.
- Ensure records are kept in good repair with all necessary information on the outside cover clearly visible.
- Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
- Clearing and re-stock consulting rooms as required
- Providing clerical assistance including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning.
- Organisation of meeting or social functions as appropriate.
- Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy.
- Make and serve refreshments, ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy.
- To wear a name badge whilst on duty and to report to work suitably attired.
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.

This list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the practice and the overall business objectives of the practice.

Pay: £14,752.00-£17,740.00 per year
